View places to stay

Saxon Switzerland is the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, south-east of Dresden on both banks of the Elbe. Table mountains, rock pinnacles and narrow valleys shape the landscape; its core on the right bank is a national park. Many visitors walk the Malerweg (Painters' Way), climb up to viewpoints such as the Bastei or go rock climbing. This page covers the 23 towns and villages of the official tourism region, from Heidenau and Pirna to Sebnitz and Bad Schandau.
