Oslo
53 places to stay. A night costs from about 130 €.
Akershus Fortress on the Akersneset peninsula includes the royal mausoleum with the tombs of Norway's modern kings. The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded every year in the City Hall, built between 1931 and 1939. Opposite, the Nobel Peace Center in the former West Station presents the prize and its laureates. The Royal Palace, the King's residence, stands at the end of Karl Johans gate and was built between 1825 and 1849.
Since 2022, the National Museum's new building has shown the state collection of art, architecture and design, including Munch's "The Scream" from 1893. Frogner Park is home to the Vigeland installation with numerous sculptures by Gustav Vigeland, most of them created between 1926 and 1942. On the Bygdøy peninsula is the Norsk Folkemuseum, Norway's central museum of cultural history.
