Grömitz is a Baltic Sea spa resort on the Bay of Lübeck in the district of Ostholstein. It has been a seaside resort since 1813. The pier reaches 398 metres into the sea, and since 2009 a diving gondola at its end has taken visitors below the surface.

Inland, in the old village centre, stands St Nicholas' Church. It was built from fieldstones around 1230; the brick tower was added in the 15th century. South of the resort lies the marina from the late 1960s, where a sea rescue cruiser is stationed. The village also has the Arche Noah zoo.

A little over five kilometres to the north, the village of Cismar belongs to the municipality. A Benedictine monastery stood there from 1245 to 1561, and parts of it survive. Cismar is also home to the Haus der Natur natural history museum and a Neolithic megalithic tomb. The Baltic coast cycle route runs through Grömitz.
